My early works are forms of installations as a reflection on space and composition. The spaces I used were vital building blocks that would coincide to a specific installation, thus determining what the outcome would be. Situating various forms on an empty wall is one way I seek out sculptural elements. I gain a greater sense of structure when using the wall as a means of support, rather than working to accomplish a free standing piece. Composition, being one of the more difficult hurdles, plays a large part in my work. When exploring this subject all boundaries are considered, including the floor and corner spaces.
Within the subject of composition I keep direction in mind. As your eyes are strongly forced to move in one direction of a piece, it quickly shifts to another. The refinement of one area, to a more volumetric area shows the shifts these forms take. You can stand at any angle of each work to view it differently as the space provides a setting of flexibility for multiple views. The patterns that the lines create on the wall helps the sculpture to stand out and be recognized as a sculpture but can certainly question the boundaries of a drawing. As I flush some areas directly against the wall, others are raised giving the installation three-dimensionality.

As I continue to challenge the process of creating work in such a freeing environment I do challenge the idea of creating with "boundaries". As you can see in my current work I have continued the same methods but the wall now becomes a removable piece whereas my earlier works were lost once removed from their location making them ephemeral.
